Your Tumbularity derives from your recent activity on the account. What that pretty much means, is that Tumbler want’s to become an addict and post as much material as you can in the span of one day, or a week. The more the better. Strange, i bet there are some people there who obsess over their Tumbularity. I hope they are aware that this is just another illusion, along with TV and most of the net. I mean why fuss over some random popularity, trying to pamper it like a baby as though it was a significant components of someones life. In reality if you invest so much of yourself into an illusion you are only setting up yourself for failure. Ancient cultists were correct, the path to happiness lies in achieving balance. So there you go sporadic bloggers, find your balance and stay healthy-minded.
I left blogger because tumblr was easier, but I have been posting less and less, and now when I post it is not as meaningful as it used to be.
I’ll have to try to get back in track.
It is meaningful, Laura, in it’s own way. I am sore, that makes me crabby, along with fucking dentists who don’t know when to stop calling me ( :) ). So i seek an outlet, through writing, involving little complaining. But it is besides the point. My words are scribbles of an amateur writer.
Your work is full of meaning. Maybe unlike me, your meaning doesn’t appear on a sheet of white paper in bold ink, instead it is the paper and the ink that make it. Your photographs are saturated with feeling, concept and execution, and most importantly outlook. To say that a work has no meaning is tantamount to saying that the creator has no purpose, is tantamount to saying that creation is a deliberate process. That is not the case.
There is always something running through your head and even the sillies lines can be considered poetry. Your photography captures a peculiar and unique perspective of reality; a snapshot of a moment. Sometimes it is unconscious. you deny your direct involvement with the result, calling it silly. In this cases we also seem to call it meaningless, just because we did not plan to construct a particular meaning out of it, a message, a purpose. But world does not run like that, like that, like that; everything is “just”, flowers bloom, critters jump from tree to tree; these things are spontaneous, unpremeditated. Everything follows its course, and who the fuck knows what it is and where it is leading us. Things around us are not set up to construct a particular impression. They are not here to amuse us, to show off. Just think how many things occurred at the moment when you pressed the capture button that was made somewhere in China for your $1000 camera, just so you can capture someones smile, someones grim. A baby is born somewhere. Somewhere there is a thunderstorm and a family is having a warm dinner by the fireplace, waiting for it to end so that they can go visit their neighbors who just moved in; thoughts run through your head; you change your mind, you retract, you doubt, then make up your mind again. I rewrote this message twenty times. Of all things in this wonderful world, photographer has to chose only one at a time. Of all moments all across the sea, every one is unique and everyone has a consequence. To say that something has no meaning is tantamount to saying that something will be devoid of a consequence.
A mother can look at your photo and start crying, just because it reminded her of her little daughter. One eye sees what the other can’t. You click, flash and you impact the world. This was a moment that you thought worthy enough to share, worthy enough to record forever (or as long as you have space on the hard-drive). I always try not to think “deeply” into matters, it takes away the element of surprise, it takes away the state of how things are; independent of us, free, unpolluted. We can only rearrange things to fit out purposes, but we can never create nor destroy out tools. Remember my poopsie, moments like that make big difference and before you know it, they will teach you that even the smallest, simplest things hold unlimited potential and fruitful meaning. And never-ever-ever doubt that you can be anything and everything that you dream of. There is nothing that a cup of coffee and a craving mind can’t achieve.
